on Her Historic Appointment as First Female Deputy Commissioner of Jhelum

Jhelum… Sarfaraz Malik, Managing Director of SLS—an award holder and Gold Partner of the British Council—extended his heartfelt congratulations to Syeda Ramla Ali on her groundbreaking appointment as the first female Deputy Commissioner of Jhelum.

In his remarks, Sarfaraz Malik highlighted that this significant milestone marks a new chapter in Jhelum’s development, symbolizing progress and empowerment for women in leadership roles.

He also commended the leadership of Maryam Nawaz, the first female Chief Minister of Punjab, for her trailblazing decision to appoint women to key administrative positions. Under the directive of Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Asghar Zaman, three women officers have been recently appointed as Deputy Commissioners across Punjab. These appointments include Syeda Ramla Ali as DC Jhelum, Saima Ali as DC Sahiwal, and Amira Bidar as DC Leiah.

Additionally, Punjab already boasts two female commissioners, with Maryam Khan serving as Commissioner Multan and Salut Saeed as Commissioner Faisalabad. These remarkable achievements reflect the government’s commitment to fostering gender diversity and inclusivity in public administration.
